Coach "Flo" has led The University of Texas back into NCAA prominence as the women's team won the Outdoor title in 2023 after the men's squad won the Indoor title in 2022. His 25+ year coaching career began at the U of Nebraski, Georgia Tech, U of Kentucky twice, Stanford & now Texas. Flo has earned several USTFCCCA Coach of the Year trophies & has been a member of Team USA Olympic & World Championship staffs. His sprinters and relay squads top the NCAA performance lists yearly.

Most states run the 300 hurdle race and then expect athletes to tranfer to the 400 hurdle race in summer & collegiate levels. Coach Hayes explains how easy & hard the transition is.

Olympic Gold Medalist Joanna Hayes has transferred her athletic excellence into coaching success over her career. Hayes has coached at both USC & UCLA over the past 10 years. She earned the 2023 West Regional Men's Coach of the Year. Co-coaching with Quincy Watts, Hayes is directing the career of 400m hurdler, Rai Benjamin. She also coached Sydney McLaughlin when she first become a pro athlete and co-coached with Caryl Smith-Gilbert the hurdling career of Anna Cockrell at USC.

The 400 Meter Is A Sprint!

Tony Holler

Founder of the "Feed The Cats" training philsophy, Coach Holler has added the 400m to his program of speed training. This interview is interesting to see how he trains the energy systems necessary in the 400m, but still uses speed vs traditional speed endurance workouts.

Tony Holler has set the sprint training world on its ear with his "Feed the Cats" training concept. As a retired chemistry teacher & currently in his 40+ years of high school coaching, Holler has applied his theories to various events from the 100m-400m along with the hurdles. He has been approached by team sports and international coaches on how his program would fit their teams too. He is also a member of the Illinois Track Coaches Hall of Fame.

TJ Harris

Coach Harris has implemented his training plans with success qualifying jumpers to NCAA and USATF National meets. He explains how to balance training & techniques to keep athletes healthy mentally & physically.

Coach TJ Harris in one of the bright young coaches in the NCAA. Entering his 3rd season at San Jose State University, Harris came from Campbell University in North Caroiina after a 6 year stint there. Harris is in charge of the field events at SJSU and has coached 25 All-American athletes. The long jumper he coached won the USATF U 20 Men's Nationals in 2023.

Successful at all levels, Coach O'Neil details how a high school hurdler can make the transition to the college/pro race. O'Neil was Devin Allen's high school & pro coach as he moved through the various levels of the sport.

After a long time high school coaching career in the Phoenix area, Coach Tim O'Neil has moved to Grand Canyon University also in Phoenix. While coaching at Mountain Pointe High & Brophy Prep, he coached 3 state championship teams & 13 individual champions including Olympian Devin Allen. O'Neil also coaches a professional hurdle team, the Phoenix TC, starring Freddie Crittenden, David King, and retired Jarret Eaton, all international medalists.

Randy Huntington

Coach to two World Record Holder jumpers (LJ & TJ), Randy Huntington is one of the top coaches in the world. His concepts on how to execute the approach and the last few steps have led jumpers to gold medals.

Considered one of the best jump coaches in the world, Coach Randy Huntington has trained current World Long Jump Recordholder, Mike Powell, and former Triple Jump World Record Holder, Willie Banks.

He started his coaching career at the U of Oregon, U of California-Berkley, worked in the sporting goods industry w/ Kaiser Sports before taking his talents to the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista. From there, he went to South Korea and China to coach their National teams. In China, he coached the World LJ Champion at the 2022. He also coached the Chinese sprint crew led by Su Bingtian.
